| Hope Haven Ukraine is a non-profit school for the special needs children living in southern Ukraine. The school is currently under construction with hopes to open it doors soon. This project is the vision given by God to a physical therapist working in Central Florida. She is raising funds to finish the 5000 square foot building and then will campaign for sponsorships for the students who will attend Hope Haven Ukraine.
Hope Haven Ukraine has a board of volunteers living in Ukraine who will oversee the project. Teachers, classroom aides, therapists and all other staff will be Ukrainian nationals. The children ages 3-18 will attend school year round and receive special education and therapies. It is the dream of the founder that the school will eventually have resident animals (horses, sheep, cats, dogs) for the children to care for and use for therapy. The school has an indoor play area so that the children will have exercise year round.
The parents of the children will be asked to help with the tuition and other physical needs of the school. American sponsorships will help with the meeting the total costs. Special needs children in Ukraine are not permitted to attend public school and this will be the first such school of its kind in southern Ukraine.
All furnishings and therapy equipment are being donated by generous Americans and will be shipped to Ukraine as funds are secured. We are working on obtaining lift equipped buses for transportation to and from school.
The school is approximately 10 miles north of Simferopol and will cater to all children in the region, thus the need for specially equipped buses.
Hope Haven Ukraine is a tax exempt, non profit organization.
